The hydrosack is a flood protection product that is ideal for quick and effective deployment in the event of a flood. Lightweight, simple to bulk store and eco-friendly, the hydrosack is a smarter and more effective alternative to the traditional sandbag.
The Hydrosack is an innovative, state of the art flood protection product, perfect for fast and efficient emergency flood response. A non-toxic and environmentally alternative to sandbags, hydrosacks can be used domestically and commercially for flood containment and prevention, domectic leaks and dealing with sewage problems. They are capable of being used in or around:
How to use Hydrosacks for Flood Protection
Hydrosacks protect against flooding by forming a protective barrier against flood water. Before deployment simply soak the hydrosack in water for up to 3 minutes and watch it inflate. This water crystallises and will be retained for up to 3 months. The hydrosack will let water in but not let water out.
Manoeuvre into the desired place using the easy grab handles. Supple enough to fit easily into openings and doorways the hydrosack will form an absorbent barrier against flood water. For superior results and increased protection, multiple hydrosacks can be stacked next to one another. The unique 3 section structure of the hydrosack allows a controlled spread which prevents the contents from moving from side to side.
After flood water subsides the contents of the eco-friendly hydrosacks can be deposited into soil without any harmful effects to the environment.

The Benefits of Hydrosacks vs Sandbags
Hydrosacks are a non-toxic and environmentally friendly alternative to traditional sandbags which can be less effective and difficult to handle and store due to their heavy weight and bulk. Sandbags can also leak water and store toxins from flood water that can be hazardous to health.
Alternatively, hydrosacks are quick and easy to deploy, weighing around 10% of the weight of a sandbag before use and can be easily stored in bulk until they are needed. Simply soaking the hydrosack in water for around 3 minutes will make it ready to be used as a barrier to flood water. Containing pulp and a super-absorbent polymer (SAP) they are capable of absorbing 15-20 litres of water, which then crystallises to help the hydrosack expand to be used as a barrier. They will retain this water for up to 3 months. After use the hydrosack can be drained of its contents into soil without any harmful environmental effects as they do not absorb the waste, sewage and toxins from flood water.
